Thank you so much for all that you did to make Signing Day a success. Choosing Job Corps is a huge decision for each student, and it’s important to take the time to recognize and celebrate every new face on campus. The journey ahead of these new students will be filled with even more choices, more moments when they will have to take their future into their own hands.
I encourage you to always look for new ways to cheer on your students during these moments, too—the milestones that may feel smaller but are no less significant than the moment they chose to come to Job Corps.
As you look at the Signing Day photos below, ask yourself, “What can I do to make sure these students keep smiling like this throughout their time at Job Corps?”

Celebrating First Responders
National First Responders Day is Oct. 28. I have so much respect for first responders, whose everyday job is helping people through what may be their worst day. We have many Job Corps alumni who have gone on to work as first responders—firefighters, paramedics, police officers and more. Here are just a few.
Brittney is an impressive woman. This 2016 Philadelphia JC grad serves as both an emergency medical technician (EMT) and a volunteer firefighter. She says it’s a big commitment, but that she loves the camaraderie this line of work creates. “If I didn’t go to Job Corps, I would have never joined the EMT program,” she said.
Antonio found his passion for firefighting at Cleveland Job Corps. He holds his firefighting license, is a certified EMT, and continued his education with paramedic school with the goal of working full time at a hospital and part time in the fire department. In this line of work, you never know what someone is sacrificing to be there, Antonio says, so he always tries to be versatile and empathetic to what others are going through.
Thank you to Brittney, Antonio and every first responder for all that you do to help us and keep us safe!
Job Corps Wins!
Let’s keep the celebrations going. It’s so important to recognize every victory at Job Corps, from more and more students arriving on campus to graduates excelling in their careers, to taking time to give back to our communities. Keep up the great work, Job Corps!
