National Apprenticeship Week is here!
National Apprenticeship Week is a nationwide celebration where industry, labor, equity, workforce, education and government leaders showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship for rebuilding our economy, advancing racial and gender equity, and supporting underserved communities.
To celebrate, Job Corps has announced that it is pursuing an expansion of pre-apprenticeship programs in three priority industries: manufacturing, health care and information technology. In addition, Job Corps will emphasize pre-apprenticeship programs in green energy, healthcare, information technology and other high-growth industry sectors.
At Job Corps, we’re happy to have pre-apprenticeship partnerships with several of the country’s largest unions, including UBC, UAW, IUPAT and more. These apprenticeship programs give students leaving the foster care system the power to bust the doors of opportunity wide open with rewarding careers. Job Corps pre-apprenticeship takes approximately one year to complete, and students walk away with hands-on job training, social skills development and the education to expand their career pathways.
