For the nearly 26,000 youth aging out of foster care every year, Job Corps can be a connector, providing these young people with support and opportunities to begin their path to independence.
Five Things To Know About Job Corps
Job Corps is FREE! Students even get stipends that they can use to start their savings.
We’re the largest nationwide residential career training and education program in the country. On our campuses, students live in dorms with roommates, eat nutritious meals in the cafeteria, enjoy recreation activities including sports and clubs, and have space to study, train and be with friends.
Students are set up for success. We provide basic medical care, uniforms and class supplies so our students can focus on their training and preparing for their future.
And Job Corps helps them get there. We provide transitional support services, such as help finding a job, housing, childcare and transportation once students graduate.
More than 3 million people have trained at Job Corps since we opened the doors at our first center in 1964.
As you plan for the new year, please consider Job Corps as an option for the youth you work with.
