North Texas celebrates inaugural Aviation class + Earth Day
These Job Corps graduates are flying towards their careers! Last month, North Texas Job Corps hosted a graduation ceremony for the center’s inaugural class of Advanced Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics training area.
Four graduates have already drawn interest from major airline employers, including AAR Inc., GE Aerospace, US Aviation Academy and PSA Airlines.
Through the program, students operate on jet and piston aircrafts, gaining skills in replacing and repairing aircraft parts and diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems. This unique training area is offered exclusively at the North Texas Job Corps Center.
Join us in congratulating some of Job Corps’ newest alumni!
Happy Earth Day!🌎
Job Corps students are doing what they can to help protect the earth, especially those who train in Renewable Resources and Energy training areas.
Chellbie, an alumna of Trapper Creek Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center, trained in Forestry Conservation and Firefighting and Advanced Fire Management. During her time at Trapper Creek, she participated in a work-based learning program where she built trails and bridges and harvested timber.
Chellbie now works as a visitor information specialist at the Northern Great Lake Visitor Center in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. She has her eyes set on returning to the fire world she was first introduced to through Job Corps.
